Help Us Soar

The Alaska Center for Substance Use in Pregnancy and the Newborn is a not-for-profit organization.  Our tax-exempt status is currently pending (501 C3) but we soon expect to be able to accept tax-deductible donations from our community.  Currently, your donations are not tax-deductible.

Our primary funding comes to us through independent contracts for education services and training.  Soon, we will be competing for federal grant dollars as well.

The Center uses its funds in direct support of our teaching mission. We provide our services without charge to the institution or organization.  As these programs require significant time and effort to create and present, we would like to provide our educators with reasonable financial compensation for their work.  We will also be using any donated or grant funds to subsidize our travel and lodging expenses for the service of these educational missions.   We will use our funds to meet our basic operating expenses which are, currently, minimal.

The Board of Directors for the Center are, and will always be, unpaid.

We are sincerely grateful and humbled by the charitable donations provided by members of our community.  The issues of substance use in pregnancy and their traumatic effects upon the developing child and newborn are immense.   Without our community’s support and charity, our efforts to do this important work are severely hampered.    Your contributions are powerful and will make a difference in the lives of these mothers and their children.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept donations at this time.  This will be changing soon.  Regardless, thank you for your desire to help us make meaningful change.
